Which LFS do you usually find them? Thinking of setting a tank in my office.
have 3 fish to recommend
somethig different
seen them in local shops now and then
they can do well in cooler water
(1) Red Shiner [Notropis lutrensis]
wide range. From northern california waters to mississippi and more. does well anywhere from 15-29 degree
smallish.
(2) Pale Chubb [Zacco platypus]
from temperate east asia eg japan
does very well in temp of 8-23 degrees.
very impressive in a school. very beautiful blue tiger strips against a light bluish silver background. Very nice fins also.
gets to abt 8cm

(3) Pumkinseed Sunfish [Lepomis gibbosus]
found throughout north american.
so definitely ok with cool water.
gets to abt 6-8".

had seen red shiner at clementi and tiong bahru before
had seen pale chubb at clementi and tiong bahru before
had seen pumkinseed in many places..
they are often sold as "Big ear cichlid" (think in chinese)
last place i saw was at pasir ris dr 12.
Tropical (not the no.63) but further in...you see the Pasir Ris Camp roadsign and you turn right in.
then you make another right turn.
