    Hi,
I got a cannister filter second hand. Is there anything I need to be careful about when cleaning the filter?

When I was setting it up, I had some problems with the water leaking, etc. When I set in/out flowrate the same it seems to work.

    Help....

Did the seller inform you that the canister filter has some defects? If no, you have the right to ask for your money back.

Did you fit the filter back properly? ie. did the O-ring seat correctly?

it takes a while to get used to it.. if leaking is not due to cracks, if could be because of ill fitting or old O rings.. have fun..

I think in my outlet flow I need a non-return valve.
Recently when electricty was shut down a lot water drained out :-)

i guess u using non priming canister. that is one of the disadvantage of using non-priming canister. a pair of tap/valve will solve the problem. some of LFS selling different size of taps. know the size of ur pipe before going down to LFS.

This is wired, the inlet and outlet of your canniter is to the same tank, so when the electricity supply is cut, this should not have happen uinless your filter is leaking but you mentioned that it has been fixed?
