I thought you'd have a problem NOT cultivating them. just one leaf floating in the tank will soon find it covering the whole surface, unless you have root-eating fishes.
why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

Oh... I put a some in my betta tank, but after sometime all turn yellow and died. so i try growing them in various condition in my office.

    1) in a air-con surrounding with light
    2) in open space under the sun
    3) in a room temp. place under the light.

just trying to find out what is the best way to prevent them from dying in my betta tank.

    cheer

not enough light (which is expected when they turn yellow). only (2) should work. in their habitat they grow in open water bodies and receives full sun.

I leave my floating in tanks with just a FL lighting. They propagate but process is slow. Took a piece and put in my T5 tank. Waiting to see if they propagate much faster.

    Frogbits with shrimps = failure?

    Hi guys,

I tried them several times in my 2 shrimp tanks, they never survive .... even in a 1 ft cube with less than 10 shrimps, guess the shrimps munch off all the roots.

Any guy care to spare me some to try again?

This time I am going to put them in my killies tank, l already have a few giant duckweeds (Spirodela polyrhiza) in there and they looks ok.

    cheers,
    BH

It is a banned weed here in the USA, CA.

Very easy to grow, like Hyacinth.
