Anyone has any idea what Apistogramma sp is this?

Now that you guys mentioned, it seems more like a A. sp 'Black Chin'...

It WAS in Biotope's tank... Someone scooped him away yesterday afternoon...
Someone from the forum one... So please own up who scooped it... Hahhaa...
Hiaz...i'm the one who scope the pair away......I was still thinking that it's still a A.bitaeniata....

Think you scooped the wrong female for this male...
The female should have the same belly markings as this male... I still see the female in the shop...
oh no! we're going to have an accidental hybrid
why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.
hexazona · crumenatum · Galleria Botanica
Hybrid???Don't think so bah....I took another female within the same tank...So think it will take a longer time for both of them to pair up again laio bah...

Think you better clarify with thio. Just incase the female is not of the same species.

How to clarify???Bring both pair down to Biotope???Anyway,i will give up this pair of Apisto if i can get what i want...You know what i mean right Genes
I got to make space for others...
Bro Genes, i have decided liao...Tell you my plans later...

Contaminant... That's why it was in that tank... Thio doesn't even know what species this beautiful guy is...
I do know of someone who will be glad to get the male from you... Hee...
I don't think your A.bitaeniata female will be attracted to the male, since they are of different complexes... One is from the cacatuoides group while this female is from the bitaeniata group...
Unless she is force on...
I don't mind if you don't want

Okie....I'm giving up this pair... At the same price i got them..If anyone is interested in this pair,i will bring the pair to biotope...most properly leave it there so that anyone interested can go there to collect...And most importantly!!!!can go exchange the female if Thio allows....But think anyone interested got to get vincent aka valice to go with you to id the female ....
If anyone is interested to collect somewhere else,do let me know...
Thanks

Yes...Wackytpt...I'm the 1 ...you interested har???
hmm, it seems to be a wild A. cacatuiodes instead of A. sp. "Black Chin"... there is no distinct caudal spot...
Last edited by Justikanz; 24th Nov 2006 at 10:44.
I keep plecos and dwarf cichlids
You meant the break between the spot and the lateral line is not distinct?
Really starting to get confused what fish this guy really is. The females I saw in the shop now have the wild cacatuoides spot (the triple red patterns) on the caudal tail...
Also mentioned in the other forum, this guy could just be a wild A.cacatuoides with an unusual expansive black chin marking...
