Nice... Only quip is that the leaves are abit too big for the tank...
i am only worried that your Apistogramma vijeta will fight with your A.agassizii...
Not sure if it's alright to post this here..cos there's no live plants in the tank..only dead ketapang leaves![]()

Tank is meant to simulate south american blackwater stream..with branches/roots and dead leaf litter..fishes inside are 3 pairs of apistos (vijieta, wilhelmi, aga), cories and marble hatchet fish..
Still not completely happy with how the wood is placed..maybe need more roots?![]()

i have some whitish color gravel...2~terry..any ideas where to get some bark-like wood?
Hey quix!!
Good to see you here!
To be honest, I've always enjoyed this type of aquascape. It's usually less prone to algae invasion too as the water is rather acidic.
And I like the space on the right side of the tank.
Cheers,
p.s. Can go see you pleco tank some time? It's been a while.
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?
Good attempt, yes smaller leaves and roots looks better for your tank size. The cories are nosey and might disturb the apistos as they are all low lying fishes. Some nana plants would be nice on the woods.
If I have to add plants, I wouldn't choose Anubias barteri var. nana. I would add floating plants with long roots to add to the mysterious and authentic biotope feel.
Cheers,

Agree. In South America, you will not find Anubias sp. They are African plants. So if want to put plants, will be Ceratophyllum sp or Echinodorus sp. But then again, depends on which blackwater you are trying to do like deep water one similar to Rio Negro or shallow creeks.
Amazon frogbits will be the perfect floating plant with their long hairy roots.
