Interesting... it seems ADA soil is alot more trouble than i'd initially expected. And yes, i just realised Weirong only lives a few hundred meters from me... it might not even be the water.

bro, i stay in woodlands tooIt's definitely not the water problem because i've the exact similar situation as yours. ADA soil in a new tank setup.

if i do remember correctly, it took me roughly 6weeks to condition the tank ready for shrimp keeping
Fatherhood - The most challenging role a man can take on but, funnily enough, the most fulfilling too.
I also agree that 3 days is too fast for ADA soil. You need at least a good 1 month and do remember to change water at least weekly because initially the ammonia release by ADA soil is really very high.

Hmm.. i'm using ADA malayana![]()
Just a bit of side track. How's the ADA malayan so far ? Because it seem not much of experience locally in term of using this soil.
Does the water become clear and not yellowish after a few days ?

The water doesn't even turn yellow. It's almost exactly like Amazonia except the nutrients are more suited to rosette plants like crypts.

You need at least 1 month to cycle the water
