are you sure you got Yamato? I have only seen egg-carrying yamatoes when they are very large (larger than 5cm). beyond that, yamatoes require brackish condition for the larvae to develop.
I just bought 3 pretty fat Yamato Shrimps today and when I brought it back I realised that one of them just birth to hundreds of baby shrimps!
Now I have to put them in a small breeding tank.
I would like to know how do you guys take care of baby yamatos?
What kind of food? Water conditions? etc?

why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

Yes, it's Yamato.
And yes, I saw the eggs in the shrimps and they were released into the water and hatched.

they will hatch, but will be unlikely to survive.

The larvae need brackish water to develop, anyway check out the site below:

Yamato eggs will hatch in freshwater but their shrimplets are tiny (see the size of their eggs) and will need brackish water to survive.
