ask you guys some qns abt altums. Do they grow fast? I think i read that some of you mentioned that they need at lest a tank 2ft in height, is that right? Right now I don't have a large spare tank, if I were to keep them in a 2 ft tank how long can I put them there, a couple of mths or just weeks?

fox, to tell u the truth, they grow accord to yr tank height, so if u want them to grow to their full size that a min. of 2ft is recommended

just to add on.......even with a 2ft height tank, it also depends on the length.....trying to sqeeze in too many will also hinder their growth rate

is there an optimum number (2 or 4 or..) for keeping altum in a tank? a bit 'kien'. will there be problem in 4x2x2 heavy planted tank with 100+ tetras, 50+ shrimp, 2 apisto, SAE and oto?

a grp of 5-6 is a good number, remember they have a peaking order.. so to reduce one altum getting bullied all the time, the many the number, the less stressful the victims are

abt wat? the height or the width or the numbers? defintely not the height, coz I always deem a min. of 2ft.. as for the width and the number of altums u have.. u got too greedy.. same goes to yr discus and other tetras and yr yamato
