Weird... the CO2 diffusor should be the one on the right?

i bot this CO2 diffuser and i am not sure if i installed this correctly?
pls teach me....
Q: if what i did is correct, then what if the CO2 trap under overflow? it will become a big bubble then?

no, i got two here
one on the right is used by my DIY yeast and sugar
the one i just bot tother with the CO2 disposable can set.... for back up in case my DIY yeast and sugar run out...
check this box out... what kinda diffuser is this?
i hv tried the current method..when the bottom CO2 increase.... then it will overflow from the bottom...with big bubble... weird

What I learned from diffuser people : always place your diffuser below any water outlet, so the CO2 can get distributed better into the whole tank.

taken more pic for u guys advise...
pic 2-4, there seem to hv a plastic valve (mushroom) shape to block/control... the CO2...
pls ask me question ...and i will explain, pls help.

That is sort of a bell diffusion method. You are better off getting those reactors driven by powerheads rather than the passive method. Look at Tom Barr's DIY venturi reactor.

ok...noted.
anyhow... may i know how it operate?
so...the CO2 just trap in the bottom?
what is the valve doing?

It's too complicated, but I guess the CO2 collects inside the tube and diffuses slowly over time.
The valve? Might be to control water flow through the tube.

The black stopper is more likely and outlet for purging the CO2 as the CO2/O2 builds up in the tube later in the day. The other half of the plastic tube is probably an extension to the passive reactor length (holds more CO2).

i hv tested.... the CO2 overflow from the bottom, even with extension to hold more CO2...
big bubble from the bottom...what a waste!!!
that's why i thot i used it wrongly....

Alv, perhaps you can bring back the item you purchased to the LFS and ask them to do some demo on how to use it properly.
Cheers!

they hv no idea also...
besides, i reckon aquarium forumer is way better than those LFS... ask a lot, answer is dunno...one...

No other instructions?
Anyway, I think you've installed in wrongly. The top piece in your in tank picture serves no purpose.
Using your in-tank picture as reference, the top piece is suppose to be installed at the bottom. Makes a long tube. The black valve is probably some kind of CO2 dispenser, diffusor.
Just guessing.
Anyway, given that you already have a CO2 source from the DIY set, there may be enough CO2 in the water that the CO2 in the new set will not dissolve into the water quickly enough. Hence the CO2 bubble will grow and eventually 'overflow' from the bottom.
So use this or the other, not both. Secondly, adjust the valve on your 'CO2 Supplier' (as labelled on the box) to lower the CO2 rate.
Thinking of it, you could probably use your old diffusor with your new CO2 set. It'll be more efficient then the one that came with the set.
