    think it is the hydrofolia diformis.......they do that sometimes .....especially if the timming is done without removing the plant itself....

    you can 'train' it to creep by continually cutting off stems that grow up
    but it doesn't make a carpet though

    They grow very fast. I guess I will trim them and let them crawl instead ...

    Under bright lights it grows sideways as well as upwards. Under low lights it grows upwards.
