    Hey bros,

The stuff in the first picture is VERMICULITE below is a brief description of it:

VERMICULITE is a naturally occuring, non-toxic soft mica mineral. It absorbs nutrients preventing them from being washed out and releases them back to the roots. It also holds moisture close to the roots.

Another material that was used in one of the setup was PERLITE:

PERLITE is a naturally occuring non-toxic neutral volcanic rock. It speeds up rooting. It absorbs and holds vast amounts of air and moisture, improves aeration and drainage, is stable and long lasting.

Both materials are usually used as parts of a compost mix but they can also be used alone. (I bought a Jewel Orchid from Woon Leng that was growing in a small pot of Perlite) I bought one packet of each from Carefour and found them available at Far East Flora too. As for the vines, I found them available at Qian Hu, but they were rotting due to poor storage conditions and heavy rains.

That's all from me now, enjoyed the short time meeting up with you guys at the workshop. (though I was late, like when it all ended ) I have been collecting the stuff I need for my own 2ft Vivarium, now just waiting for my tank to be ready!!

    Cheers!!

A lot of very useful stuff can be found at plant nurseries.
