I introduce bogwood to CRS tank. I boil the bogwood for 2 days, then soak another day beofre placing the CRS tank.

First few days CRS is doing fine, then one by one disappear.
    Is bogwood suitable for CRS?

Now i test with ghost shrimps. No problems.....

Some bogwood still leeches humic acids in large amounts after you have boiled it for 2 days. The high acidity may have killed your shrimps. Did you do a pH test on the water?

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

Sometimes when you rearrange your aquascape, decompose material or dirt will cloud your water. And this will somehow cause your shrimps to die. I used to rescape my crs tank and ended up with lots of casualties.
God will make a way, where there seems to be no way

I read that some Bogwood can leak tannins (Sorry I can't remember the spelling or if this is the byproduct) for many months & boiling reduces it but it will continue to leak for many months even after boiling...

Oh one more thing... I've read that for CRS tanks if everything is fine try not change anything once everything is stable...

Don't try to fix something that is not broken...

I've read that doing ie. Major water change, major landscaping & trimming have killed CRS in alot of threads...

Do everything in minimum amounts to prevent huge changes in the water parameters for your CRS setup...

    then one by one disappear.
Sometimes shrimp hide well in a heavily planted tank. Did they disappear or did you find their bodies? Have you been able to count how many shrimp you have?

thats bad, cherry shrimps is one of hardy shrimps. If cherry can't survive, forget about CRS.

I intend to put a bogwood on my new 3ft CRS tank. Is there any bros out there has been sucessfully raising CRS with bogwood? Your advises are much appreciated.

From this CRS tank set up guide, they also say bog wood will kill CRS: http://www.shrimpfanatics.com/articl...ank-part4.html

You need to soak bogwood for long long long time, they will leak sap (milky stuff, at the places where the wood is cut) out which can take weeks or even months to run out.
