    Hi All,

Just want to check with you guys how to grow moss.
My Java moss is not growing or growing at such slow rate i can't notice the difference.

My friend and i planted a similar amount of moss in our own tank. Within weeks, his has overgrown and you can't see the drift wood anymore while mine just remain green with no visible growth. However, my other plant is growing fine. My tonina is growing at a rate which i am very happy with

I used Ocean Free substrate(Brown colour type, auntie told me similar to ADA but lousier quality and cheaper), canister filter (Atman Pro) and Co2 tank(1 bubble per second). Light i have 2 36watts PL lights. No fan no additional ferts.

    Thank you.

    Cheers!

Then your friend has something that you don't have. Why not check with him and see what you're missing.

Well, he has a fan which i do not have and we have different type of substrate. I think Tonina is a more demanding plant right? But it has florish while my moss remain stagnant. Funny situation i have here.

You have answered your own query. Moss needs cool temperature to strive. Go get a fan

    tips of growing moss:
    1. clean stable water i.e. not too much fish and not too much changes in water parameters
    2. cool temperatures i.e. preferably 27 and below
    3. ignore & neglect them for weeks
    4. tie them to some surfaces so that they have something to hold on to
... always look at the bright side of life
