    Isn't 8mm for 4x2x2 a little on the thin side?

    Ideally the thickness should be 12mm. Are you keeping fw or sw?

    Wats that?SW & FW?anyone know meaning of 'fen'in chinese?2 1/2 fen =?
    ----------------
    SW=saltwater
    FW=freshwater

    you need more thickness for saltwater aquarium due to density of saltwater (ie heavier).

    Fen = 1/8 inch
    2.5 fen about 8 mm.

    Goodfish, where did you find the 4x1.5x1.5 at $60? What is the thickness? Where can I get it? I just need the tank.

    Thanks for the info. I thought such a good deal until you said the tank is 6mm only...I want one that is at least 8mm. I think I give this one a miss then. Cheers[]

    Er...how does one determine the exact or minimum thickness needed for a tank ? is there a formula to it.

    I am keeping FW fishes.

    no such calculations
    except
    the thicker the better
    for tanks up to 1.5 ft it's recommended for 6mm and above
    up to 2 ft and above 10mm and above

    my custom made tank from bioplast is 70cm tall, 10mm thick glass
