I don't think diamond tip drill bits are for glass. They are for very hard objects like granite.

For drilling glass I think they use some sort of cylindrical grinestone n lots of water.

Why not just bring the glass/tank to the glass shops or tank makers and ask them to do it? Safer and most likely cheaper.

If the tank is too big, some are willing to come to your home to do it. Most likely, an additional fee will be required if they make a house-call.
