You can buy ADA soil at NA, Colorfull, C328, Y618, etc and it is not advisable to use under gravel filter for planted tank.

Can get the ADA amazonia soil from these following places:

    1) Eco Culture
    2) NA (May be out of stock)
    3) Colourful Aquarium
    4) Y618
    5) KS

For the address refer to this link: http://www.aquaticquotient.com/forum...ad.php?t=13291

As for undergravel filter, it's not recommended for planted tank. Get a canister filter instead.

    Hi all,

Thanks for the advice, appreciated very much

I intend to keep fore ground plants together with shrimps... thus, will a undergravel filter together with a canister filter helps in lesser maintenance? Many thanks

    Regards

No, you still dont get the concept right yet. UGF filter is not for planted tank because the consensus so far decided that UGF cause compaction of substrate and will do more harm than any good in a planted tank. It is a result of decades of observation (one of another factor is until now people would also use base fertilizer or some sort of soil under the gravel - this will get sucked out by UGF to the water collumn).

Instead canister filter or non wet and dry overflow filter works best.

If you ae seriously looking for low maintenance, i would suggest that you do some research about setting up and maintenance of a planted tank before you jump into it.
