As for undergravel filter, it's not recommended for planted tank. Get a canister filter instead.

No, you still dont get the concept right yet. UGF filter is not for planted tank because the consensus so far decided that UGF cause compaction of substrate and will do more harm than any good in a planted tank. It is a result of decades of observation (one of another factor is until now people would also use base fertilizer or some sort of soil under the gravel - this will get sucked out by UGF to the water collumn).
Instead canister filter or non wet and dry overflow filter works best.

If you ae seriously looking for low maintenance, i would suggest that you do some research about setting up and maintenance of a planted tank before you jump into it.
