2ft with 16 Neolamprogulus brevis 'sunspot' young.![]()
I posted a thread asking for dither fish for tanganyika shelldwellers in the cichlids forum and was given the suggestion of getting this fish.

these fishes will all die with those guys..
Huh what do you mean?
These fishes and those guys refering to?
haha.. sorry a bit confusing..
i mean that the fishes are actually quite shy.. at least when i had them...so i fear that they may get attacked by your young fishes... if they do.. they won't stand a chance... however.. i think i recall them being good dodgers.. and your shellies aren't THAT aggressive relatively speaking.. so maybe it may work out..hmm...
Anyway, its a 2 ft tank.. so dont put too many la.. already got so many young ones in there liao.. still want to load tank ah?
In that case i'll just stick with the swordtails in there. N brevis are probably not that aggressive but i gues i won't take the chance.![]()
Thanks a lot![]()
ranma, i have to beg to differ with you on this subject.
my tangi's are in a 18x12x12 inch tank the multi's number around 30 of differing ages plus 8 S.resplendens,
the S.resplendens stay in the upper level off the tank and have so for over 6 months, i have never seen a split fin on any of the S.resplendens since they have been in.
also they have bred in the same tank as the multi's.

for me it is mainly the jarring shock of seeing a school of Myanmar fish swimming with African cichlids.![]()
why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

well Mick.. i didn't say not to do it... so theres nothing to "beg to differ"...
i've only ever kept S.resplendens.. and not them together with the cichlids.. so was just taking a stab in the dark..
I did say that it MAY work out.. and coming from one that has done both..i guess your opinion would be more accurate...![]()
