Anybody know where I can send my PL lamp for repair?
It is a double PL 2 feet lamp with digital ballast. I just konk out on me a couple of weeks back. It happened before & I had it repaired by a LFS but it cost me almost 50 bucks.
I want to look for alternatives.
Do u know which item is at fault? If it is the electronic ballast, just replace it, only ten/nine wires, two for A/C, 7 or 8 for PL tubes. I say 7 or 8 because some e-ballast have 4 wires for each PL, others have a common wire for both PL ie 1 common 3 to 1 PL another 3 to other PL. Anyway the wiring diagram is usually on the e-ballast.

BTW e-ballast is abt 20bucks.
I know that the PL tubes are ok..check them using another lamp. I guess it must be the ballast.
have u tried going to chan at Nature aquarium?
It may not neccessary be the ballast that is faluty. Suggest you check connections first. To repair a light for $50 is quite a rip off (pardon my french). Did the guy replace anything?
Don't mind looking at your lights if you can wait for 2 weeks when I'm back from my business trip. Where do you stay anyway? Hopefully not too far......
Alternatively, NA Nature Aquarium may be your bet choice to get your lights repaired. Charges are quite reasonable (so I've heard).
