Wanted to start a planted tank but looking into moss as do not intend to inject Co2

Saw a very nice shrimp tank at a shop with the base totally covered by what the shop owner claimed to be fountain moss. However, I noticed that Co2 was used in that setup.

Please advise where I can find fountain moss, does it require Co2 and do I need to use soil for this setup.

    Thanks

That's just a nickname given by the owner so it could be any moss. I could even call my moss 'Waterfall Moss' or 'Mountain Moss' if I felt like it.

Get a clear picture of the moss or compare it with the pictures of mosses on the Internet.

Found this from the internet, but when i asked around from shops, no one seems to know it.

Maybe I just go back to the same shop and ask them.

Fontinalis antipyretica is usually known as "willow moss". But as you can see, common names are not very helpful as everybody uses a different term. Stick to the latin names.

If you are interested in the moss, why not ask the shop where you saw it?

Thanks. By the way, does willow moss need co2 and soil?

From what I know, moss does not need soil cos it does not have roots.... just tie it to a DW (driftwood) or stailess steel mesh or any rock.... it will grow....place it at room temperature or below room temperature... any temperature above room temperature will hinder its growth though it still grow at very slow rate. That's y the mosses in my office tank grow much faster than my tank at home....It does not need any CO2. Hope this helps.

you can also try using cooling fan to bring down the temp. the moss grows well when the temp is low.

Guys, fountain moss is Fissidens fontanus. New common name coined by the guys at killies.com for the so called US fissidens.
