Some shops open from 1030 hrs. Most open from 1100 to 1200 hrs. Most shops close at 2100 hrs.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

Check out hong Kong aquarium plaza while you're there.

Try visiting Tung Choi street in the afternoon or early evening when they are in full gear even though a few shops start super early or super late. Don't forget the shops on the upper floors as well.

I've ever encountered 130pm opening time.. yes i think it's best to go during the afternoon even though most shops open around 1100hrs as what Benny mentioned.

There are plenty of shopping centres around.
    Cheers!

may be off topic, Is it legal to bring in fishes from HK along with? Do we need to get special clearance from customs while doing this? I'm planning for a short vacation in HK and thought to get some good specimens of Apistos.

in my country (Phillipines) you always need a permit to bring in live fishes... but there might be another problem with some airlines that do not allow liquid items to carried into the airplane...

30 pieces packed in not more than 3 litres of water per person per trip but best to check with carrier and watch out for the liquid ban on hand carry luggage. Liquid bans may vary but I believe the ban may not be applicable for Asian destinations, and in any case, it can be packed in the check-in luggage.

I've ever 'transported aliens' but on all occasions in my hand carry luggage without issue. How does one pack them in check in luggage? I'm worried about non pressurised cabins and low temperature.
Anyway before we go off topic, there is another row of 2-3 bigger shops after Tung choi st, near the Prince Edward Station.

yea. i never checked in fishes when i was transporting them via air before, I was afraid that the luggaged might be thrown around or be subjected to extreme cold.

bak to the topic again, is the 2-3 bigger shops in the goldfish wholesale market? hehehe im excited to go there, hope the salespeople are friendlier then your average hong kong salesperson

They are not exactly a wholesale market. Just ALOT of fishshops congregated on an entire street. The smaller row of fishshops I mentioned is just outside Tung choi street, near Prince Edward Rd. I remember seeing a gas station nearby.

Yes they do, and at a bargain too. I went bonkers over some echis I hardly see here. However, do get a feel of the market price in SG first. We have some advantage over them on some stuff.
