erythromicron likes to hide and you would hardly see them school if your tank is as planted as yours.. bottom dwellers mostly...

FYI, skip weitzmani tetras as they hide all the time. I have to be very still just to see come out of the vegetation.

Hyphessobrycon amandae (ember tetra) do look very pale to the point of being colourless when new in the tank. Give them time to get use to the environment and they should look like this.

I agree... when they are well customed to your tank, they will be deep deep orange... Nearly close to red...

Very eye catching with a green setting...

Sidetrack a teeny bit, do they look better with a black background? I remember in one thread where a guy showed his low tech and the ember tetras were all a beautiful red/orange against the dark backdrop of his tank.

Also, you can get a school of quick rasboras. I had kobutai once, but they stayed at the surface most of the time darting around and I didn't like it. Would have been nice if they frequented midwater.

I suppose that would be Microrasbora kubotai, but keep in mind that he already has Trigonostigma espei, T. heteromorpha and a few boraras.

Too many colours or too many types may spoil the effect wanted, but that's just me.

I have already harlequin and espei rasboras (near adult size), so I have supplement it with the amber tetra. Oh yea, I have boraras too.

Okie guys, will keep that in mind for the black background. Will try a black cloth or a black board etc to see the effects.

I have upgraded from the 3 feet PL to a 4 feet 4*54 T5. Will update when I have some time. It is still a low tech tank though, No Co2 added, No fertilizers, no waterchange.

The lighting is okay right for a 4*1.5*2H feet low tech? Not too much, not too little I hope. because I am scared for my PUB bills

    Regards
    Christophe

I didn't read that you already have fishes! Sorry!

Fei Miao is right indeed, it will spoil the look, and I was talking about Microrasbora kubotai.

    ER.... oops. I mean Quixotic.

Must have been the result of sitting at a booth from 10 to 5.30 doing nothing but staring at passers-by. Ngee Ann open house.
