"It's also call Brachirus salinarum. Belongs to the soleidae family and normally distributed in Australia and South America. Can grow up to 15 cm. Carnivorous diet - small aquatic invertbrates, live or frozen. Will take sinking flakes or tablet food sometimes. Prefer 22 to 30 degrees with pH of 7.6 - 8.0. dH to 15 degrees; SG1.002-1.007 (It's a brackish water fish). Due to it's shape, it's normally at the bottom and will therefore require a sandy substrate. May partiallly bury itself in the substrate during the day."
    - according to Gina Sandford in Aquarium - an owner's manual.

I just saw a small tank full of them at Rainbow last week. Looks very pretty.
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

can't find any gd websites to share...

Anyway, in brief, there are very few truly freshwater soles/ flounders. Most are saltwater. They breed in fresh or brackish water, the fry spend sometime in freshwater before flowing downstream into saltwater when they are bigger. The young look like normal fish then after awhile one eye moves to one side of the fish and it becomes flat (interesting). The saltwater versions grow quite big, but the freshwater ones grow to about 1.5 - 2 inches (if I recall correctly).

They are bottom feeders, They like to bury themselves in sand with only the eyes showing. They eat mainly live bloodworms but will also take frozen ones and also sometimes algae tablets.

There are many different breeds of flounders... (most are a popular source of food in some countries) not sure about the type that we get at the LFS. Sky Devil might know more about them.

    Hope this helps.
