Control the feeding. Too much food, they might die. Also, too much food dirties the water. I only feed mine once a day, controlled amount.

All fishes will eat non stop as that is their instincts...
They never know when the next meal will come in nature... So since we are the 'Nature' here, we can control when their next meal will come...

    how about catching them out?

think i will also stop feeding them so freqent now.
BTW, my fries are about 5 days old. when do i separate them from the parents?
Tried once but the fierce mother keep attacking my scoop/spoon. and the fries always lay low to the ground. Very difficult to catch. Any suggestion?

In my experience, I remove the male shortly after the fries are free swimming. It seems the female is more stressed with the male around.

The female can stay until the fries are semi adult size.

These are from my experience with A.vijieta, A.wilhemi (cannot even spell them now!).

Well, i seriously think that feeding the fries twice a day are toooo much...Base on my experience,it will be better just to feed the fries once a day and it will be sufficient....If the fries are still hungry, they will look around the plants for microorgamise..which are much better...

Ps: I had a very bad experience feeding the A.elizabathae Fries...
    Last Time regime:
Feed babay brineshrimp (BBS) in the morning after vacuming the floor... Feed BBS in the Afternoon..In the End???Lost the whole brood of fries!!!!! Fries are dead due to over-feeding...Based on the advice from some experienced breeder..

    Now Feeding Regime"
Feed only once a Day without vacuming the floor...In the End??My whole brood of A.elizabathae fries are growing up well...

And based on my observation, the fries will grown up faster when they are left with their mum...Reason are....
1)Mum will take much better care of them from the ditter fishes..
2)Spaces are much bigger and it's also a point for faster fries growth..
3)With bigger space, fries will grow up more healthy as they got more space to swim around..and there are more micro-orgamise for them to look out for...

    Just my 2 cents worth

Wow! Okay I'll take note not to feed so much then. By the way, mine is ten weeks old.

    Feeding Regime

As the fries grow bigger you can regulate to more frequent feeding.

As a rule for me, I regulate the amount but increase frequency of feed.

Agree with MILK, the female can stay until they are semi adult.

For me, when the fries are "weaned" off from BBS; that is they can take alternative food source, I will remove the female.
