Was reading the label and at the end it says "Guaranteed Analysis: k (Potassium): 4%.

    If it's only 4% k, what's the other 96%? It says 1 ml will raise 1 mg/l of k but if it contains only 4% k, shouldn't it be 0.04 mg/l instead of 1?

Did I read it right? Can someone help? I'm thinking of buying but after reading it, not too sure if its worth the money if it's only 4%.

Errr... don't miss up the units. 4% of the solution is K, that means in very simple terms, in 1ml of the solution, you get 4% x 1 ml = 0.04ml of K. ml is volume, mg is weight. The weight of any volume of a substance depends on its density. So 1ml of K does not necessary equate 1mg of K. Get what I mean?

So, according to the dosage, you can assume that 1ml of Flourish K contains 40mg of K.

It is definitely too expensive. I used to dose that. Now I use K2SO4. I bought 1kg at abt $9 which is enuf to make 45 250ml bottles of 4% K solution.

The label is correct. It says 1ml added to 40Lwill raise the K by 4mg/L.

    4% K means that 1 ml(~1g) will contain ~0.04g(or 40mg) of K. 40mg to 40L will give 1mg/L.

Thanks Vinz for pointing out my mistake. Thanks to Bclee too.

With only 4% "bo hua leh", think better stick to Losalt. Only worry is that the water will turn brackish overtime.

K is one of the macro-nutrients that plants need, the other 2 being N and P. While N comes from fish waste and rotting bio-matter, and P from fish food, there are no sources of K in a planted tank.

I bought my K2SO4 from Dr. Mallick. Don't have the address with me right now. I have ever posted it b4 if you can find it.

K is available in liq fert like TMG. But it is rather low. It is almost insignificant in Seachem flourish. As K is one of the macro nutrients, it get used up pretty fast. Good to keep K level high since it do not really pose any problem even when it is too high.

Dr. Mallick himself stay at crawford lane. He has a storeroom there with all the stuff. At crawford lane, he put his stuff for sale at one of the kiosk that do photo-developing and other stuff.

Do call before you go to make sure that they have the stock. Otherwise, call Dr. Mallick himself to get him to replenish the stock before you go down. The last time I wasted 1+ hour at the kiosk.

Call him on his mobile to make sure there's stock at the "mama shop" (at Blk 462A) own by a Mr Fong. Dr Mallick puts his chemicals at that shop.
