    Hi all,

I'm moving house soon, and I would like to donate my fishtank to charity.
If anyone would like to set up a planted tank/vivarium at any old folks' home or orphanage, please contact me as I can provide most of the equipment for this project.

    Things that I'm donating:

    2.5ft * 1.5ft * 2.5ft 8mm side / 10mm bottom glass tank with Eurobracing
Wooden Cabinet with Brown grain Formica
    Arcadia 3ft FL light
2 * 55W PL Tube + E-ballast + Wires etc ( Haven't gotten down to modifying the FL Light yet)
Metal Grill cover (Prevent fish from committing suicide)
    Branchy Drift wood
    Sufficient Dennerle Black quartz sand

Basically this setup is just missing a filter and it is good to go.
Anyways, for this project other things will need more people to donate as well, for example manpower / transport to move the tank, to set it up and maintain it in the long run, and livestock, fertilizers etc etc. Oh we also need a charity to donate to in the first place.

Hopefully this can be a community project for Aquaticquotient members, and it won't be a one-time thing so that everyone will go down to the place regularly to maintain the fish tank and to interact with the people there as well.

If anybody would like to help me out, you can pm me or email me at [email protected]. I don't log in as often now, so email would be better. I'll be moving sometime in March, so I believe there should be ample time to prepare everything.

BTW, I'm living in Sengkang and I'm thinking of donating the tank to Ju Eng Old Folk's home at Jalan Kayu. But I'm still open to suggestions, so long as the tank is donated to a charity.

    Cheers,
    Yong Ann

Since this is not really a market place thread but a call for charity drive, I'll shift this to Aquatalk.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

What does the old folks home want? Do they want a fish setup or a vivarium setup?

We might be able to do this as a gathering for AQ and learning/observing event for either a fish tank or a vivarium setup... I can discuss this with a few people and see whether we can come up with something...

The setup is to be done in March?

The only thing is the location is a little too far for most people. We can help set up but might not be able to maintain long term. Someone who stays nearby has to offer to learn and help...
    Read me! http://justikanz.blogspot.com/

Gee this is one of my dreams come true! Erm...but does the old folks home really want the fish tank set up? I live in Punggol so it's not that bad for me to head over - I've tried to set up some field trips in arofanatics but not here so far... Anyway I have little free time on weekends, but more free on weekday nights...

Very willing to help set up, but there are a lot of factors involved.
e.g. does the old folks home expect us to upkeep the tank, change water, etc....or are they doing it themselves? Note that I do believe some of the residents in the home may be retired fishkeepers as well...

Who is doing the liasing with old folks home, stuff like that....
