AC or DC fan

Just want to know which type of fan will be suitable for planted tank as there are AC and DC type.I believe DC type would need a AC/DC adaptor.What are the pros and cons of each type?

1) safer even if comes into contact with water
2) quieter

I have a DC fan from Oceanfree. Very noisy. The vibration from the fan caused my fish to be stressed. Now it is sitting in my storeroom.
