Thanks Eman. He's still a juvenile.

Been trying to take a picture of him flaring with the intense red colouration in his finnage. But the moment the camera zooms towards the glass. No water what amount of food baiting or mirrors i place. He just ain't coming out...

Oh. I had an Apistogramma cacatuoides given by benetay with the same problem.

Camera comes out, fish gone. Camera gone, fish comes out.

Extremely irritating situation and finally, the fish wins. I never had any good pictures of that fella. The other dwarf cichlids in the same tank does not have the same problem. Strange indeed.

    Cheers,

Different apisto characters' varies. Even the same species might not have the same result! You might be able to shoot 10 A.Bitaeniata but the 11th might not be as easy as the previous 10.

All of them are of different character thats why it's very fascinating to watch them.

    They always test our patience...hehe

And the net thing...the moment the net goes in. They disappear into the cave and just peep till the net is gone then they will come out.

you know maybe the thing is that they got frightened by you using the net to catch them everytime so as long as the net goes in its only natural for them to hide from the danger!
