I have a pair of Parosphromenus alfredi and I'm thinking of transferring them into a tank of their own populated only with cherry shrimps.

Thing is, will they leave cherry shrimps alone? Mine are about half a finger's length right now, and their mouths look too small to eat but big enough to pester.

But parosphromenus do eat snails. Thus being carnivorous, I think they would attack your shrimplets. But if you are not into breeding then I think given the size of the adult cherries, shouldn't pose any danger.

I didn't know that they eat snails. But shrimplets are definitely a possibility.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?

Yeah they do eat. Think its the trumpet snail. Saw it with my own eyes. Just like puffers. Analyze the snails, find the best angle to attack and then zoom in on the snails, leaving behind the shell. My planted tank used to be infected with lots of snails. But these paros, help me in clearing them.

    Just like Apistogramma eating snails.
People also don't believe that they eat snails. Same way as how the paros eat the snails.

    Thanks for the input guys!

Snails I don't give a heck. But shrimplets, a little. I'm not into breeding though.

I will transfer them as soon as I can catch them out of my planted tank...
