I have started planting Ricca on Steel Mesh yesterday evening.(Mine is a new 2ft tank).

Till now, i can already see bubbles from the riccia ( i guess my CO2 input is sufficient).

How long will it take for Riccia to grow out from the mesh?

    I am pumping CO2 at 1bps for 12 hrs daily and also 2 X 36W (6500k) PL lights for 14rs.

Sorry for the question as i am only a 2 day old begineer to planted tank

Considering that riccia can sometimes become a weed, no need to worry. *heehee*

Simon is right, reduce your lighting hours to 10 hrs, else very soon you will be combating algae, not to mention maintaining those riccia that floats up to the surface. Have fun !

Riccia is truly a beautiful plant especially when it bubbles. But it can also be the most troublesome to maintain especially when it grows to a certain lenghth or when you have algae on them (especially hair algae). Try to reduce your lighting time and also your CO2 output should be on the same timing as your light.

Also be prepared to do a lot of maintenance when it grows.

Irony... pearling riccia is one of the things that seduces many ppl into planted tanks, however also one of the first plants that many give up on.

Even more ironical, ppl give up on riccia not for poor growth but for excellent growth. []
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

Yeap, get a cooling fan. Better still DIY one yourself for less than $20 which should bring down the temp by 2 degrees
