Hi, I'm a newbie here and found this place by accident. So far found it to be very informative and user friendly!!

I have a tank for some time and there r quite alot of water marks and limescales(reflects rainbow colours when see fr side?) at the top, anyone have any cheap DIY methods to removing them?

Also I have a friend wanting to sell his 1 yr old Eheim 2213 but told me that a part in it is broken in two(part number 7433710 according to his manual, it look like a thin white stick), will this affect the function of the filter? He want to sell me cheap but I worry abt that.

Appreciate all the help I can get, Thanks!![] []

Try using vinegar. Works just fine.

    Welcome aboard!
The limescale you mention could be due to mineral deposits especially if you have coral chips in your gravel. The vinegar method mentioned earlier should do the job.

You can get reasonable prices of a new 2213 at Nature Aquarium or Petmart. Check for comparison to see if getting that old one is worth it. Petmart also sells the replacement parts. Can check with them the prices also. Good luck.

Haha tried the vinegar method and it WORKS!! Except for some tougher stains, I got most of it, seems to work even better if u left it there for a while [:] [:] Went down to C328 n lakeside aquatics and managed to buy some blue sponge n cabon pad but white pad r out of stock..

Anyone any idea where to buy puffer fish?
