Not very sure about this fellow's gender, can anyone tell me?
Think is a female but the sharp pattern on the fin make me curious is it a small male?
    thanks!

The best way for almost all female apistogrammas, look out for the black markings on the ventral fins. That is the almost sure bet of sexing a male from a female if in doubt.

Female cacatuoides are the easiest to tell apart cos they also don on the breeding dress. They lack the male extension on the dorsal. One more advise is to buy fishes with shop with some basic knowledge of apistogramma. Once in a while, error may happened. Try to go down with someone with apistogramma rearing also helps.

Where? Are you referring to the black markings on the dorsal fin?
