Can I join this thread? Got a question to ask.

I'd like to know if they will work in a low tech tank without CO2 injection and just lapis and rootmonster or 7ball for fertilization?

Generally not too well. CO2 is needed for photosynthesis. Carbon replacement from carbonates or SF Excel can help but the growth would be slooow or not vigorous. So far IME most bryophtes and some plants like Ceratophyllum demersum[hornwort] can do well in non CO2. Echinodorus will shrink and or start sending out leaves out of the water in non CO2.

Talking about hidden gems. Haha. I searched high and low in all of the tanks looking for echinodorus sp quadricostatus.
I told the uncle i was looking for sword plant which stays low. He gave me a bunch of java ferns
In the end i found the only remaining pot hiding behind a super big bunch of stem plants in the tank beside the entrance. Hidden gem indeed.

Haha....thats also what i experienced too. The uncle is call Richard and basically i think he knows only abit about plants except the cryptos which he got.

BUT i must agreed with StanChung that Colourful indeed have some hidden gems.... cos i bought most of my echinodorus species from there...
