Offcourse it is possible, how many watt is your light? Are you planning to change your lighting? your tank is quite deep

Hi,
recently taken over a customised tank from a friend measuring 3.5 x 2 x 2 ft . Since it comes with a nicely decorated hood with the lighting fixtures for 2 flourscent type lights, my question is is it possible to do a planted setup (i don't mind not densely planted, just maybe some plants to be on the tank)? If so, any suggestion of lighting to be used?
Thanks

hi shadow,
from the looks of it, it's not too possible to change the lighting fixture so, i'm stuck with 2. Any suggestion on the brand/ type of lighting to be used?
what sort of lightings you use depends on the type of plants to intend to have and whether you will be using co2.
you can check with delightings on the cost to modify the lights in your hood.
an example of their work can be seen here

What are the wattage of the tubes? You probably can keep some of the low light plants like crypts, ferns, anubias. Check if the hood has ventilation and if you can install a fan.

ic, as supposed i wanted to set up a low light setting as bryan suggested, any suggestion for the wattage for the tubes to be used?

for low light maybe you can start with 2W/gallon.
