    Hi everyone,

I am a Singaporean living in Sydney. Recently, I became quite fascinated with planted aquaria. Attached is a photo of my 50x25x30cm tank set up 2 weeks ago. At the present moment, my main objective is to keep my plants alive and healthy. Hoping to learn from all the experienced forumers here.

    With best regards,

    shan

    Hey Mate

Welcome to AQ. Nice tank! Have you been to paramattra road? There's a pet store there with a wonderful planted tank. Forgot the name of the store.

    Hi shan,

Nice to see you here. Nice tank you have there. Let me know when you are back. I will make you spend in Singapore rather than spending in Sydney. You can get a twice as much with the same amout of $$ spent.
    Cheers,

Hey, nice to hear a fellow singaporean is there. I am heading to Brisbane for good in the near future too. What is the pricing there like for fishes and plants?

    Hi,
The hobby is a lot more expensive here - about 4-5 times Singapore LFS prices. For eg. a harlequin rasbora is about SGD6.00.

    Hi eugene,
I've never been to the pet store in Parramatta Rd. Is it in Auburn? I might make a trip one of these days. Cheers!

Its further up along the road where the Nike, Adidas, Puma wearhouse is. Used to go often when i was staying in Sydney.

Talking about the price of fishes from DownUnder. The whip-tail pleco (our so call "helicopter") cost A$50. Kept swordtails at A$3 each. But i'm amazed by the variety of the swordtails and the quality there. Really good! The white cloud minows also cost me A$3.

Hang on for another year so that you won't have to worry how to ship the AU$400 per piece Altum Angels when you leave Sydney.

    Hi Shan,

    Welcome to AQ!!

I think after you've been outside of Singapore, you will appreciate the locals shops' variety and their prices a lot better.

I recall that Anostomus ternetzi going for A$50 a piece when it was about S$8 here. Amazing.

In any case, nice green tank you have. Looking foward to your participation in our forums.

    Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?
