that is not common, something might be wrong with your water.
Recently, a couple of my cherry shrimps died, what upsets me the most is that most of them were carrying eggs when they died. Is it common for cherries to die when pregnent due to the additional burden?
The shrimps are in a tank with only Boraras brigittae so don't think they are being attacked. Some of them simply drop dead just as i was looking at the tank.

Generally speaking, pregnant shrimps are maybe a little more sensitive. Check your water.
God will make a way, where there seems to be no way
It is definately not common. They might be stressed to the point of death.
You can save the eggs and put it under flowing water (ie. filter outflow) and some of them will hatch.

this is the first time I heard way of salvaging the egg. Interesting![]()
Figured it might have been my pH level as it was slightly low at around 5.5-6. Increased surface movement and did a water change to bring up pH. However, still find some deaths of shrimps.
Tried salvaging the eggs after i read about a similar experience post in the forum but sadly all the eggs had fungus and turned white by day 3. How did you secure the eggs near your filter outflow?
On a sidenote, noticed my very one and only first shrimplet 3 days back, hope it is still surviving somewhere in the tank.
