    Hi folks,

The purpose of this thread is to find out how many folks are interested in getting the hatchery dish for harvesting live baby brine shrimp (BBS). This thread does not confirm any mass order at this moment.

    I've calculated as follows:

If we get 20 dishes plus UPS worldwide express shipping option, it will cost US$388.4. So each dish will cost S$29.78. Not sure if there's other charges like tax.

It should be near to around $32 bucks. The banks will usually charge a slightly higher exchange rate. So far my overseas purchases have not been taxed by GST even when the total cost is more than S$400. Think it depends on abit of luck.

Eman, so if get a set a 20, will they still include the free eggs as stated in their website?

I've emailed them and asked for quotations for 10 dishes as well....and also asked if we could stuff in cans of eggs if possible....let me get a reply from them and then i'll take the chance to ask about the free eggs...which is worth USD$6!!!

my past imports of fishes were not tax by GST too...

    Lets wait for their reply!!

I've got a can of BSD premium grade bbs eggs for about $7* and i'm still left with more than half a can despite me hatching bbs everyday!! each cycle requires only a pinch of the eggs if you don't need a lot of feed...

    eman,
i believe there is a limit for GST charge.
if a package is declared $300 and above there will be a GST charge.
the forwarded/courier will ask for that payment after the package is delivered.

It is by luck sometimes. I have a couple of packages declared above the mandatory amount, and SingPost did not collect GST from me. But I read in another forum that UPS and DHL will collect GST if it is above the amount and SingPost sometimes collect GST, sometimes don't.

But, eman, you can factor in the 5% GST first and collect the GST to cover your backside. Got savings then return the money.

    Hi,

I have bought a bottle from the LFS in Jurong East with 90% hatch rate about 4 months ago. I hatched it almost everyday and now left with about 1/3 and the hatch rate is still there.

    Hope this help.

i have no problem hatching them using my ordinary tank with airstone. The only problem I had was keeping them alive.

Seriously I have no idea how it works BUT from the feedback by other aquarists, they say that it works so why not give it a try, if it really works, it can safe us a lot of trouble going through the conventional method....

Thank you for the pictures bro!! A picture tells a thousand words....

Could you kindly share about the usage of the dish as in
    1) How long does it take for the eggs to hatch?
    2) Hatch rate?
    3) Any additional tips?

    1) How long does it take for the eggs to hatch?
    1) It takes the usual timing of 12hrs to hatch...and BBS will start swiming to the centre of the dish where the light is.

    2) Hatch rate?
    2) Hatch rate is similar to using the conventional method depending on the type of BBS you have.. Infact, BBS will hatch even without air bubble.(you can test it.. )

    3) Any additional tips?
I usually change the water every two days cos i am lazy..haha.. Not more than two days cos the water would have fouled by then. Adding BBS eggs in every 6-8 hrs also help to provide a constant fresh supply of BBS..

    Hope it helps..

Woah!! Thats really good testimonial from our fellow brother that this dish does work wonders in supplying live bbs!!!

Still awaiting reply from BSD regarding the free eggs...if all goes well, I might go ahead to order 20 to 30 dish since 1 box can fill 30 dishes...
