Sounds tricky. Cascading water from 10ft into a big volume of water then to a smaller volume of water. Take care incase the water goes everywhere else.

Dear all,
I was approached by my wife aunty's husband over the new year period to help him build a ten feet tall water fall in his garden. In his house, he has got a 8x4x4 black fibre tub and a 16x2.5x2 concrete pond. His intention is to connect this two and build a ten feet tall water fall for his fibre tub.
Since i am no pro is this area, may i humbly seek expert assistance in this forum.
He doesn't want to employ contractors and wanna DIY. Any one keen?

what does he want in it... ??.. if you can get 1 or 2 sifu from this forum to help I will tag along to provide koolie work..

don't understand the concept, is the fibre on top and then then the water flow to concrete pond at 10ft hight?
1st thought that comes to my mind is that you might need a pressurised pump to push water up that height. Iwaki water pump but I do not know what the model required to be used for that project.

When I saw this thread last night I thought you didn't want to do it, so I wanted to post "dude, just say no."
Anyway it seems like you are enjoying the challenge. Money wise, it sounds unrealistic.
Don't you need tubing and lots of rocks and cement to stack together a waterfall? Gotta pay for those, as well as 'failed experiments' if you're a noob at waterfall building.
People being people, just concerned for you that they would blame you for a failed attempt and not themselves.
P.s max 6 meters is about 20 feet. 10 feet is about ceiling size.

yea, second on Sunfire's advise. Seems like a half-hearted effort on the other side, just be careful not get the relationships tangled along the way. All the best!
Cheers,
Andrew

Serious to do a 10ft water is not an easy thing. You do need professional expertise in this area to do it. Frankly speaking, if your relative is on a tight budget.. then ask him to forget it. (My apology for my frankiness).
It is like you want cheap and impressive. Dream on.
Secondly it is better not to do for relative as it might strained relationship if anything goes wrong.

No offense. I actually agree with you but he enjoys DIY things. so when he came over during CNY and saw my little water fall in my flat which was DIY, he asked if i can help him do one.
Anyway, when i told him the price of the pump couple of days ago, he hasn't got back to me yet. So let's us wait and see.
Cheers!!
I can take photo of waterfall in my school garden and post here later.
