Crossing out to prevent inbreeding?

I've been looking for a good quality Ap. Cacatuoides to improve the genes and quality of my future fries....I do not want to inbreed my pair too much so I wish to take this opportunity....

Its for similar cause as well and I'm offering a pair of my juvenile in exchange in Milk's program too...

Eman, your A.cacatuoides might lose the triple red for future batches if a pairing between a wild and a triple red occurs.

What if I breed with his 1 x Female( Super Red gene-->Breed)??

Then there might be a chance that some of the fries will have super red, some triple red, some don't know what red. Will depend on which is dominant and recessive genes already.

Let me correct Dimas here, its "triple red" not "super red". You wouldn't want the triple red as the FOC triple red female will be from me. So it will be inbreeding for you.

You already have 2 breeding female triple reds right? One from me and the other from biotope?

Nope...I only have the male from biotope and the female from you...the other pair was sold to one of the bros...

Crossing with a wild Apistogramma cacatouides will certainly strengthen the gene pool of the aquarium strain. However, you need to have a basic understanding of fish genetics and apply line breeding techniques to maintain the characteristics you are trying to preserve.

Actually, it's not only for producing aquarium strain dwarf cichlids. It also applies to species maintanence.

The basic principle/understanding behind keeping a particular species in good genetic health is critical. If you don't not cross out with other specimens of the same species (different parents), eventually, the deformities will be apparent and it will be more and more difficult to get successful spawns.
