    Hi Guys,

Just want to know where can I get someone to drain the drain hole for my existing tank( which the thickness is only 6mm thick only). I have asked a lot of fish shop and they do not help to do it. Can anyone here recommend it to me.

    Thank
    Richard

Perhaps you mean drill a hole in your existing tank?

Some glass shops will do it for you if you bring your tank there.

In KL, some lfs that custom make aquariums have this tool to drill holes in glass tanks. [Not recommended for old tanks as the silicone could be fragile.]

Have you tried the yellow pages under aquarium makers?

    hi Bro

I am Unable to find the located glass shop in yellow page that provide glass cutting for tanks. Can you provide any recommend shop that is located near to north side.

By teh way I think to ask me bring teh fish tank to KL for cutting a hole is a bit crazy la, bro. May be you can help me to locate any shop in the north side taht help to do this type of service.

    drill hole in tank

Hi, i don't know which glass shop does it. I am also not sure if they want to do it, cos if they break your tank in the process, they may be liable to fix it. And if they don't get much from drilling holes, then they may not want to take the risk.

However, if you want to be a little more adventurous, you can buy a diamond drill bit at the hardware shop to make a hole in your tank. it cost less than 10 bucks. Of course, you will need to have a drill in the first place. And U also need to know how big a hole u want, cos they come in different sizes.

I did that with 6 of my tanks. 100% succuss rate, and that was the first time i did it. So i presume it must be rather safe and straight forward. When drilling, remember to keep the surface wet, especially at the contact point between the drill bit and glass.

    all the best!
