Ap. Macmasteri are not as demanding as some of the Apistogramma species. They are tolerant to different water conditions. Give them lots of hiding space. Am sure they will do fine for you.

This male looks worth the money, nice colour on its body and fins. I thought Apistogramma macmasteri looks similiar to A.veitija.

Both are from the Apistogramma-macmasteri-complex. Some differences lies in the lateral band and the shape of the black spot on the caudal peduncle. However, because they share many similiar traits, they are often mistakenly identified.

    Yes, it is nice indeed.
Thought of buying it, but worry may ended up difficult to get a female.

those they sell in pairs are not one male , one female?

Yes, Apistogrammas are usually sold in pairs. What Sheng meant is that it will be difficult to find replacement if the female or male should die since they are not easily available.

Dang, I hope that my male gets similar coloration to that. Just picked up a trio a couple of weekends ago and am growing them out.

hmm sorry to say but i doubt it'll be the same, cause the colouration already is quite differrent, his is like super red on the head, unlesss its still young, dont think that stress can cause the fish to lose so much colour.

Very nice pictures Ibn. Was at C328 yesterday. Did not see any Apistogrammas for sale. Polyart have a pair of Ap. Cacatuoides.
