That might work but with most things submersed in water, the cocopeat with disintergrate over time so you'll end up with a mess, but a lesser mess perhaps.
Cocopeat does lower the pH of the water.

Thinking of using cocopeat mixed with base fert but afraid that it will cloudy the water when I do major re-scaping. So I'm thinking, whould it make any better if I pack the cocopeat inside small onion bag (plastic net used to wrap onion in the supermarket)? Any sugestion/recomendation?
Another question is does cocopeat lower water pH?
Thanks in advance

Some local red top soil, a bit of coco peat and some burnt hay/husk compost topped with plain silica sand does well enough for me... at least on a low light setup.
My setup would turn a bit tea colour after a week or two without any WC, and it must be the hummic acid/tannin from the peat/husk.

Thanks bro, just bough cocopeat "volcanic potting mix". Unfortunately, the peat was cut or grain into small pieces, so the idea won't work![]()
used it before. cocopeat mixed with JBL aquabasis fert topped with Lapis sand.
things are alright at first but gets real messy when it comes to rescaping.
