Hi guys, its me again..[] Just wondering how come my plants are not bubbling? Not photosynthesizing? My light conditions are adequate as it is 3-4W/GAL. CO2 level is approximately 15ppm. Any suggestions? Currently keeping fishes inside so have to be careful with CO2 level

Yes... What i wanted to know actually is that do my plants still grow well although there is no bubbling? The CO2 level is actually ideal from what i learn from others.

just because you don't see bubbles doesn't mean your plants are not photosynthesising.

the reason you see bubble formation is because the rate oxygen is being produced is greater than it is being dissolved into the water.

how's the water movement in your tank? turbulent waters help dissolve the oxygen water faster and dissipate excess amounts at the surface. so harder to get that bubbling effect.

If there are more fish in the tank, their O2 intake is as fast as is being produced by plants. So bubbling effect is not as obvious or not present at all.

My 4ft tank doesn't bubble at all but the plants grow as well.

Lack of bubbling is not an indication that your plants are not growing well. Bubbling occurs when the water is already saturated with oxygen for the reasons stated by above forumers.

Personally, I find excessive bubbling freaky. In fact, if you think about it, it makes the 'natural aquarium' look unnatural. But, I do admit, there is a sense of satisfaction to see your bubbling. To each their own... []
