I will be setting up a 60 gallon planted tank in the near future and I already run a reef tank.

For the reef I use RO water and I was wondering whether I could use the waste water from the RO unit for the fresh water tank. It seems logical as it has already passed through a carbon filter to remove chloride and protect the membrane but I am not sure whether it would be wise or whether it would need diluting with some RO water.

It really depends on what's the composition of your RO waste water.

I presume it would be hard. Some plants can take it and few plants like it.
Depends on the plants or fish you like to keep really.
