    Hi guys,

Dug up an old photo and I don't think I've shown this one before. Caught him while he was yawning.

Now...which species would have a mouth that big? No peeking at the image source now!

    Cheers,

Yup. It's quite easy if you been looking at them again and again. It's indeed Apistogramma cacatuoides.

As for picture book, there are too many around. Besides, we don't see enough species here to make a credible contribution.

I thought you finally had time to pick up your camera again!
I personally starts to get worried when I see my apistogrammas yawn too much. Saw that for my two deceased males, and they both died from internal bacteria/parasite.

Not the most flattering photo for a keepsake, but still, it might serve as a good record someday for folks with the same situation.

Although the earth eaters are cichlids, I don't think they will be appreciate here. Most of the folks prefer dwarf cichlids.

Besides, they are not the easiest to shoot. Forever moving. And most importantly, I just don't have the motivation to shoot these days.

Is it because there are no good specimens for you to shoot?

Not really... Since end of 2005, I haven't really been shooting due to some family issues at home. With the departure of a close family member, I've pretty much dump my equipment at a corner. Everything else seems to have lost it's lusture.

The only reason why I'm still hanging around in AQ is because I was touched by the geniune care and concern showered by the AQ folks during that difficult period. But recently, I am slowly begining to find the attraction to my aquatic pets again. And also, the passion of the new apistogramma fanatics is quite contagious.

Perhaps I will start shooting again in the near future.

Glad you're coming back into the hobby, both photography and fish keeping (More apsitogrammas perhaps? )

Always like your magazine standard pictures of the fishes you take.
    Check out my newbie shot
