    putting them together is your intention to see them fighting? If yes, you must be regretful because you got that injury in the end.

    As the saying goes, the bite is worst then the bark.

    But these fishes have character.

    yes, they have a very true character
    (i am sure the guy who bites me will feel sorry for biting me...as it will feel a difference in the meal, IF it will get something to eat for a day or 2 at all, hehee)

    I notice in your tank, there is a heater in it.

    Is it necessary for apisto? And what temperature is it set to?

    Hmm, it's quite cold in Hong Kong recently and so i set a temperature of 25C
    for the tanks. For apisto's breeding tanks, i would set a temperature of 27C.

    Does that mean you basically have a heater in every tank?

    in the past: yes (up to 38 heaters, amazing, isn't it?);
    now: no (as i have too many tanks!!);
    when the temperature is really low, i will turn on the home heater and warm waves of air will be provided.

    blueblue, all I can say is that you have an amazing collection of fishes.

    Wonder if the Singapore boys can organise a trip to HK to view your collection and learn from you..
    It's NOT "Chee lick", NOT "Chee Chee Licks"!!! Cichlids is pronounced as "Sick Lids"!!!!!
