    Here are mine

Hi, I got a pair from apistodave and they turned out to be 2 males. I had to grow them out, were sent to me at 3/4 in, tried to get females but always died a couple days later. Then found another source and got 1 pair of wild ones and 2 extra females. The wild pair is extremly shy, here are pics of my incas.

    Hi,

I used to keep them before. They used to be the King of the apisto world.

As for yours, the full colouration is still not out yet.

Be patient and continue to pump them up well.

They can be very colourful in adult stage

Nice promising pair you have there.

Hi chuencp39 nice setup for the inkas there. Looks real cosy. If you are trying to breed them the corydoras are not a good idea.
    Nice inkas.

Hi chuencp39, where did you get that terracotta spawning pot(left side of your tank in 188KB picture)? I'm looking for that kind of pot.

ya...you are right, i tried to catch the cory and the looch out before but they are really too fast for me to catch. my inca male now is the king of the tank,he will ''wack'' anyone that swim close to his ''nest'' jus like this mad face...hahaa....even the female also quite fierce to other fishes

How many cories you have in your tank?
Don't worry. Given the aggressive nature of A.baenschi, no cory can get near to any fries. Soon, your cories will learnt also not to go into certain areas.

I have 3 broods of fries with 5 cories in my tank.

I agreed that inca is really fierce and is the king. I kept it before together with other apistos (agassizii and caca) and inca will always chase at them. In the end, the caca died because of starvation and later the inca died because its stomach got bloated as it occupied all the food i fed.

oh i see, then i just leave the cory(i piece only) and looch inside...
Actually i kept them with my caca pair last few days, but the caca too fierce to them cause they seem like wan to breed already,so i transfered caca to other tank. That's why my inca now become the king.....haha

    Hi all,

Those are beautiful fish you lads have got yourselves.
Has anyone bred and grown the offspring up to maturity? I kept a pair back from the first spawning last year, the parents are wild caughts so i would have expected the young to be the same as the parents in colour but as you will see by the pics they are yellow finned with not a hint of red as the parents had.

Don't get me wrong they are good healthy young adults but lacking the red. They are benny's if he comes over before they get to old.

    Regards
    mick

No doubt it is one of the jewels of apistos. I had 2 successful spawns from a wild caught pair from Peru. I managed to keep half of the spawn alive up to now. The picture is the F1s at about 1 inch. My experience with the fries is absolute control on the feeding. They tend to stuff themselve too much sometimes.

Hi Nice incas there. Update My wilds finally Introduced them selves to me was beginning to wonder if there were any fish in the 10 gal tank . The tank reared male and wild female spawned for me already but she ate the eggs my water is to alkaline and i need to get some RO. I just purchased some almond leaves so going to add them as well when I switch over to RO.

Update of my inca pair..think the male don't like the female, always chasing her away. What can i do to make them be together?

I really like the look of A.baenschi "Inca", but I like the A.cacatuoides more. Has anyone had experience rasing both in the same tank with some success?

As for the A.baenschi, I thought they were Harem breeders, so it is best to have 2 females to 1 male, or else he might harass her to death.
