Blyxa aubertii ah
err.. anyone knows the name of that plant that looks like cyperus helferi except that it doesn't have that "v" shape in the cross section??
It supposed to be quite common and grows easily... very thin leaves...NOT hair grass... crap.. i can't remember.
i am quite sure its in the Vallisneria genus... was quite common a while back..
Anybody has some?? Does it do well in low-tech tank??
Blyxa aubertii ah
keke.. i found it already.. its vallisneria nana.
So does anyone know where to get and if it'll grow good in a low tech??
Yup. It will grow good in low tech tank. It is like any Valliesneria sp. Slow growing in low tech, but runners will still run all over the place.
I have been getting mine from Teo's farm.
Eh how to confirm whether is vallisneria nana? I got a plant which is tall and very thin but not as thin as hairgrass. The leaves just one straight line and trails across the aquarium. Also propagates by runners. Costs only like $1 per pot. Does it match the description for vallisneria nana? Thanks
sounds like it
Haha come to think of it my description can mean a lot of plants too. But thanks a lot.
take some photo and post it
My Val nana grows slow in a lowtech, but eventually, it still gets long -- 2 ft long in a 1ft cube (ADA Substrate) is normal for me if I leave it to grow for 3+ months.
Oh and Powersand and ADA Amazonia make them grow too fast, too big and too tall. I have another bunch in a bare glass blackwater (driftwood leaching tank) that is lit by whatever diffused daylight it gets on the corridor. Leaves are 1.5 ft long after 3 months, skinny, but putting out runners.
