got a bunch of them. very hardy fishes. had them for some time but never knew what they were.

must be escaped population of the golden aquarium strain of Aplocheilus panchax.

escaped? i'm pretty sure there won't be escapees around that area.

well female A. panchax could look pretty pale/golden, and yes it is native to Singapore. the truly golden form as sold in the shops are a selectively bred strain.
in any case, aren't all aquarium fish once from the wild?![]()
