    Hi!It is advisable to put the heater cable below the gravel for planted tank,anyone had this experience.thx

    It seems like this method is more popular in western countries. It is said to improve water circulation in the substrate and benefitting the root system. It could also be due to their climate having winters? I am not sure. Our local hobbyist don't seem to use it and plants grow just as well.

    u have to try it out yrself and c the result.. my 4ft has heater cables and my 6ft dun, but plants r still growing, difficult to judge...

    I have asked the same question to Chan of Nature, he told me good for cold countries, not a must here but having it would be a plus.
